Kendrapara: Authorities from the Jamboo Marine police station in Kendrapara district have apprehended two individuals in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two minor girls.
As reported by Soumyaranjan Biswal, the officer in charge of the Jamboo Marine police station, the incident took place on September 19 while the girls were en route to their school.
The suspects are said to have used a chemical spray to incapacitate the girls before forcibly taking them away in a vehicle. A classmate of the victims alerted a teacher about the situation, which prompted a swift police response.
The accused, identified as Indrajeet Pal (28) and Tarun, also known as Buddhadeb Dehury (27), both hailing from Ramnagar village, ultimately released the girls near their school, seemingly intimidated by the police's quick action.
Following their arrest, the suspects were presented before the ADJ-cum-Special POCSO Court, facing charges under various sections of the law, which resulted in their remand to judicial custody.
